Tell us where the house is and what you have in mind. An independent deck builder who works in your area will call you back to talk it over and set up a time to see the property.
Before you call
It helps to have:
- Your address or township, so the request reaches a builder who works there
- Whether it's a new deck, a repair, a rebuild, railings or a roof over the deck
- Roughly how big, and how high off the ground the deck sits or will sit
- Whether the lot is on or near the bay, a lake or a stream
- A few photos of the house or the current deck, if you have them
Railing wobbling or a board cracked through? Block off that part of the deck and keep kids, guests and pets away until a builder has looked at it. Don't lean on a guard that moves, and don't shovel heavy snow off a deck you're unsure of.
